About this Dog
Hi there, I'm Terry and here's some information about me: Age: 3 yearsBreed: Labrador crossWeight: 50 lbsGender: FemaleI was rescued along with my brother, Bolder, from Texas about 2 years ago. Unfortunately, my current owner's living situation has changed and she has to find a new home for us as soon as possible or face eviction. At the moment we're forced to spend most of our time in the garage so we're really missing our interactions with our humans! My brother and I are quite close so ideally, we'd love to be adopted together, but if that's not an option for anyone out there, we could go to different homes.I've been nicknamed 'Licky' as I just love to shower you with kisses! My current owner says that I'm a super sweet girl. I get along with pretty much anybody and everybody; kids, cats, and other dogs (though I haven't been tested with toddlers). I love exploring the outdoors and going on adventures! Kids think of me and my brother as their best buds. As I have lots of energy, a home with a big fenced yard would be the best thing ever so I could spend lots of time running around.Being alert and always looking out for my family, I will let you know if there's a stranger nearby. I also know commands like 'sit' and 'lay down' and I'm eager to learn more. With direction and patience, I hope to learn more things to please my human(s).I'm still working on my leash skills as I like to pull, please be willing to teach me!I'm waiting to love you up.Energy Level: HighMy adoption fee is $800 CAD + applicable taxes. Our adoption fee together with my brother Bolder is $1000 CAD + applicable taxes.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
