About this Dog
Age: 8 months Size: 65 lbs Estimated breed: Pit bull/Staffordshire bull terrier Perfect home: Zara has grown up with older kids 12 and older and done well with them. She has lived with cats but enjoys the chase, so needs a cat-free home. She loves the other dogs in her foster home who she's grown up with, but can be wary meeting new dogs. She'd do best as the only dog in her forever home, where she can be the queen of the castle! Zara joined us when she was only 4 weeks old with her three siblings. They were found nursing off their emaciated, chained mama living outside in rural South Carolina. Local advocates convinced the owners to surrender the puppies and their mom so they could get them the medical care they needed! Zara and her siblings came to PA to a foster home, and the other three puppies quickly found their forever homes. Unfortunately for Zara, no family ever came for her, so she remains with us 7 months past her rescue :( Zara is now 8 months old and weighs 65 lbs. She is a shy girl who can be nervous meeting new people, but she warms up quickly with a gentle and slow approach and yummy treats. She actually prefers meeting kids! She’s grown up with older kids in her foster home and loves to cuddle and play with them. She’s also grown up with three other dogs, who she plays well with, but can also get into scuffles with. Zara is very alpha in her play and doesn’t like to share food or treats, so we feel she’d be happiest as the only dog in the home. Zara received three weeks of professional training back when she was 4 months old and is an expert with basic obedience! She’s super attuned to her handler and will check in regularly on walks for guidance. Zara has already waited far too long for a family of her own. She has outgrown her puppy foster home and while her foster family loves her dearly, it’s clear that Zara needs a home of her own, where she doesn’t need to share her space with so many other dogs. To adopt Zara, please apply on our website! www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application Update from my foster 6/25: Every morning when I am taking 30 seconds to put on my shoes to go outside with the dogs, Zara waits patiently at the door, staring lovingly at me (even after sleeping beside our bed all night). She is so loyal! How could you not smile when you’ve got her little face watching your every move? After a long day of helping me work and playing in the yard, she cuddles up on the couch with all her doggie foster siblings, not leaving any room for the human family members! She is such an easy pup to have around and deserves a family of her own. She’s waited six months already, far longer than all her siblings who joined forever homes months ago. Update from my foster 4/7: Zara is rocking it at her Board and Train! During her first week, we were helping her understand expectations and boundaries when it comes to food, bones, play time, and general manners. All the concerns she came with are now in the past and we are focusing on teaching her how to be the best puppy she can be. Which she's already amazing I might add. Seriously......if I were in the market to add to my zoo, Zara would be staying!! She is the best puppy and will make an amazing companion for the right family. Zara has been learning skills such as Sit, Focus, Orienting when called, Walking on leash, and Leave It this past week. Aside from those skills that are strictly verbal, we always start with hand cues and body language. Why? Because dogs don't understand English until it is taught to them. Dogs communicate through body language, so we work with them in ways they best understand before introducing a foreign language. She is super smart and quite the cuddler! Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training. PA Kennel License #18366

Adopt Zara and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Zara's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Zara's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Zara, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Zara's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Zara was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Zara’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Zara’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Zara’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
