About this Dog
Arya is a lab/boxer/pit mix, is 8yo, weighs 50lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped. Arya's guardians offers: "Arya is extremely loyal, loves attention and to be petted and lobved. She listens extrenmely well and is very trainable. She loves to sleep and snuggle in bed/couch, but will only do so if prompted to. She also loves to steal socks out of the laundry and snuggle with them! Knows all basic commands (sit, stay, lay, come). Does good in car. She is territorial toward the house so will bark and jump at the door with delivery drivers." Arya's guardians explain why they have made the difficult decision to rehome her: "Arya has been protective of the house since we adopted her. She see's red when someone comes to the door or stops in the drive way from delivery or family members. If a stranger comes to the door, she sees red and goes after whatever is near her aka our other dog. She has NEVER gone after a person. We have an one year old that has started walking and the fear of her attacking him if someone comes near the door is a major safety concern. She also has a high small prey drive. She has lunged at two smaller children once when she was 8 months and when she was 6 years old. She recently in December angrily barked and angrily lunged at a one year old. Teeth out. She was outside and the child was by the sliding door. She attacked the glass sliding door. We have worked with four trainers and worked with our vet on medications" BITE/LUNGE/ATTACK INCIDENTS: Prior to 10 days ago, Arya lunged/attacked/bit her canine siblings, which broke the skin, which needed medical intervention, but animal control was not involved. Arya's guardians explain: "She has broken skin to our other dogs in the household. She has broken skin on bear (bleeding) and puncture wounds etc. She has broken skin thats resulted in emergency surgery for our dog Remington who needed 10 stitches." Arya's guardians offer a brief medical history: Arya is taking 1 tab of Prozac each day; Gabapentin and Trazadone are administered as needed. Arya's guardians state the following regarding children: Although Arya has lived with (until recently) a 1yo child, her guardians don't recommend her living with younger children, stating "We keep separated but tolerates baby". Arya's guardians state the following regarding dogs: Although Arya has lived with (until recently) dogs, her guardians don't recommend her living with dogs, stating "She does great at doggy daycare. Gets along with other dogs outside the home". Arya's guardians state the following regarding cats: Arya hasn't lived with cats, so her guardians don't recommend her living with cats, stating "High small prey drive".
