About this Dog
Meet Lainey! Lainey entered San Bernardino Shelter as a stray. When she wasn't reclaimed, we scooped her up to become a Frosted Face on December 5th. Lainey is about 10 years old and weighs 56 lbs. She is such a sweet, loving, and affectionate girl! Lainey knows SIT, rides nicely in the car, and loves walks! She has excellent leash manners and isn't reactive to other dogs. Lainey really enjoys snuggling and leans in for hugs. Can you resist her lovely face, and those EARS? Lainey is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn what she is like in a home. Her Fling Mom sent us this great update after their first week together: "If you are looking for a low-key, sweet dog who quickly adapts to a new home with new humans and dogs, and has many motherly instincts to serve and protect her humans (and her stuffies), please consider adopting lovely Lainey! * Rides excellent in the car. Started on the back floorboards, then moved to backseat. No interest in the open windows. * Meets and greets little dogs nicely. Completely non-reactive to the obnoxious dog next door and other dogs we meet on our walks. * Loves bones, stuffies, and treats. Occasionally needs to be reminded to take treats gently from your hand. * Knows how to use doggie door (by Day 3, she could go in and out on her own. (She has no interest in escaping your yard or any other shenanigans. * Sleeps on the carpet, hard floor, dog beds, and occasionally the sofa. Sleeps over night 10+ hours (in a dog bed next to your bed or the living room.) * Easy walker. Doesn't pull, but will put on the brakes when she smells something good in the neighborhood. She can walk at least 1 mile at a time (because that is all I can do,) but could definitely go further. * Can be protective of home and occupants, especially towards strangers at the front door. Best practice would be to keep her restrained from greeting new people at the door. If she knows you, she doesn't even bother to get up and greet your homecoming. * Licks her bowl clean for every meal (dry food, meat topping, and temporary Rx) Lainey is food obsessed and MUST be fed alone including treats. * Very soft and shiny coat of fur with very little to no shedding in the wintertime. She isn't a big fan of bath time but does love to be brushed with a Furminator. * Not one single accident in the house. She can hold it forever, but I force her to go out every 4-6 hours during the day. Will hold it at minimum 12+ hours overnight. * Can be trusted to be left home alone. She is not a door dasher, but will follow you to front door. Then, she will lay in front of the door patiently waiting for you to return. * Lainey has only met one youngster (approximate age 7) on our walk and graciously accepted his petting upon her head. * Lainey's ears and soulful round eyes are her most endearing quality. If you are a Star Wars fan, many people think she looks like Baby Yoda." Check back for the full report on Lainey's Fling! Adopt Lainey and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Lainey's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Lainey's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Lainey, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Lainey's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Lainey was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Lainey’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Lainey’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Lainey’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
