Hershey is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Hershey is an Irish Setter / Standard Poodle mix - hence his beautiful red color. Hershey has an auto immune disorder called sebaceous adenitis. It means that his hair is thinning and ultimately he will lose a lot of it. He gets a nice bath regularly to help manage. Hershey is a setter/poodle mix. He is not hypoallergenic and does shed. Weight: 52 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $1 - I am priceless Fence needed? Yes, Hershey requires a physically fenced yard with fencing 4 feet or taller What kind of home would be best for me? Hershey is a younger dog with an old spirit. He is great with other dogs, but would be happy as your only dog. He enjoys a good romp or walk, but isn't in need of marathon runs. Hershey is definitely more of a calm gentleman who will thrive in an environment that is medium energy. We don't know if he has ever lived with children, but Hershey has an energy well suited for children over 8. He is fine with small dogs and cats. What is my personality like? Hershey was surrendered to a rural shelter by his owners. We have no idea why, and no history. What we do know is that the shelter recognized that his hair was different and that he had an auto immune disorder that impacts his hair growth. They realized it would take the right home that would embrace his beautiful personal style and be committed to his care. They reached out to rescue for help, and we said yes. Hershey is a big baby. He loves to give hugs, he loves everyone and just wants everyone to love him. His favorite thing is to be petted behind the ears. Hershey gets alone well with other dogs and doesn’t mind cats. He is food motivated. Hershey is very clean in his crate. He has a solid Netflix and chill vibe. Hershey is not hypoallergenic and does shed. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Hershey's birthday is 5/10/2020 House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
