About this Dog
Cruelty Case! Shelby needs her forever home This is Shelby - an apx 5-6 y/o , 40-ish lbs., sweet and gentle girl who was seized in a CRUELTY CASE where she spent her life tied outside on a chain! As if that's not bad enough, she ended up being a timestamped for euthanasia at the overcrowded shelter where she ended up. So she was seized from horrific conditions only to end up with her life at risk anyway!?! Thankfully, we were able to save her from euthanasia because a very temporary foster was able to take her in for a short time. ------------------------- Here's what the Shelter staff had to say about Shelby: “Shelby is very well behaved. She is always eagerly standing at the front of her kennel with her tail wagging. She is not very vocal and has a calm demeanor. She walks gently on leash and is very tolerant of handling, including medical exams. When introduced to other dogs, she lacks confidence and will give an appropriate correction to ask for space. Shelby will need to be introduced to other animals slowly. Given her poor body condition she may be defensive, particularly if food is involved.“ —— For this reason, Shelby needs to be the ONLY DOG in the home. As is often the case when dogs are not properly socialized and left tied outside to fend for themselves, they are very self protective and they guard whatever precious resources they have since they don’t know where or when their next meal will come from. This means that they can often be perfectly social and fine around other dogs out in public, but cannot live in the same home with them, unless kept safely separate due to resource guarding issues leading to conflict with other dogs in the home. However, it is important to note that with humans, she takes food and treats very gently! —— -------------------- Here is what her temporary foster mom has to say: "Shelby is an amazing, loving, and gentle soul. If you are wanting a low maintenance, easy-going cuddle buddy, she is the one for you! She knows how to sit and twirl for treats. She can be left alone and will not chew or mess with anything, and she rarely barks! Treats and sleep are her most favorite things. She also enjoys plenty of petting and giving kisses. While she may be an older dog, she still has plenty of energy when she gets outside. She is anxiously waiting to live her best life snoozing on the couch and finally getting to experience what being loved by a furever family is actually like!" ---------------------- If you are touched by this sweet girl’s story and are willing to open your heart, and home to one that has had a hard life, please message us with your contact information or CALL / TEXT Aly at 732-604-0625 ! [ NOTE: Shelby is currently being temp fostered in the VA/DC area and ground transport will be arranged to northeastern states for a committed Foster/adopter ]

Adopt Shelby and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Shelby's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Shelby's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Shelby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Shelby's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Shelby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Shelby’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Shelby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Shelby’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
