About this Dog
Cute and handsome Leo is 4yo, weighs 50lbs, is neutered, is up to date on his vaccines, and is microchipped. Leo attended Wild Acres for intensive training and can 'sit, stay, roll over and is good off leash and on hikes'. Leo's guardian adds: "Leo is amazing to live with. He is very chill, naps most of the day, loves snuggling and watching tv with me in the evening. He doesn’t chew anything he is not supposed to, he is respectful of my things and boundaries like no sleeping on my bed. He is 100% housebroken and is well trained in the home. He sits when I serve him meals, knows “on your bed” and “out” when I want him to leave the kitchen or be out of the way on his dog bed. He exhibits protective behavior, barks at people approaching the house. He is also playful and likes a quick game of tug of war. Loves new toys. He is active, loves hiking. He is the happiest running around the woods and stays close to me on the trails." Leo's guardian explains why she's made the difficult decision to rehome him: "Leo is not good with kids and my family is growing. He has a history of nipping and this behavior is unpredictable." BITE/NIP INCIDENTS: Leo's guardian explains: "He has nipped at multiple people who have approached me or the home. He is scared and acting protective in those situations. They often involve him being surprised or caught off guard. In all situations, Leo nipped at the persons clothing. He has torn clothing and in the case of the child and one older woman, pulled them to the ground/caused them to fall. The situations are completely unpredictable. He is often super friendly with someone who he later bites. He is often calm when encountering kids on a walk." Leo's guardian states the following regarding children: Leo hasn't lived with children, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with children, stating "Is fearful of children and will lunge and nip at them". Leo's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Leo hasn't lived with another dog, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with dogs, stating "Gets along with most dogs". Leo's guardian states the following regarding cats: Leo hasn't lived with cats, so his guardian doesn't recommend his living with cats, stating "Chases cats. He attacked a cat who entered our yard". Leo's guardian describes him as: Barks alot Friendly Shy Likes to be touched Affectionate Fearful Protective House-Trained Likes men Likes women Leo's guardian describes his ideal future home: "Leo would do great with space to run, sniff, and roam. He loves being the center of attention, so being the only pet would be best. He is his best dog self when gets to hike and be outside. He is leash trained.
