About this Cat
UPDATE 1/20/23 - Emmett has become a lot more comfortable in his foster home and allows his foster mom to pick him up for short times. However, he has been diagnosed with diabetes. He won't be available for adoption until we can stabilize his insulin dosage. He doesn't mind his twice daily injections at all! What a trooper! Emmett is a very sweet, shy boy who has had a hard life. He was rescued by another rescue when he was a young adult and had an operation on his back leg for a luxating patella. When he was placed in a foster home, a dog there attacked him and broke his leg. The vet wired it and he went to a different foster home where his foster mom adopted him. However she also had multiple dogs and so Emmett spent most of the next 7 years hiding under the bed during the day (when the dogs were around) only coming out at night to sleep with his favorite humans. In March, 2022 his dad suddenly passed and his mom was moved to a senior community so Emmett was relinquished to PAWS-OK to find him a new home. Emmett is a sweet boy who needs a quiet home with no dogs. It will take him a little to get adjusted but when he is comfortable he will make a great companion. He loves to be petted but is not fond of being picked up, either due to his multiple leg surgeries or because he was not handled a lot in his previous home. PAWS-OK is a small foster based non profit rescue operating in the OKC area since 2008. All our cats and kittens are spayed or neutered, tested for feline leukemia and FIV, up-to-date on their vaccines, litterbox trained and fostered in a volunteers home. We are committed to placing our rescues in the most loving homes that we can, regardless of how long it takes. Our kittens are kept with their mothers for as long as possible and not offered for adoption until they are at least 16 weeks of age. A handful of our available felines can be seen in the PetSmart Adoption Center in Rockwell Plaza (8357 N Rockwell) during normal store hours. If you are interested in adopting a new cat from PAWS-OK for your family, please go to our Adoption Request form at https://form.jotform.com/pawsokrescue/adoption-request-form. Your Request will be processed by a PAWS Volunteer who may reach out to you via email to clarify your information if needed. Processing normally takes 2-3 business days. If your request is approved, an Adoption Counselor will contact you to set up a phone interview or a time to meet with them at our Adoption Center. If we cannot help you, we may redirect you to other sources for a cat that may better fit your situation. Thank you for looking at our available cats and kittens. If you have any questions, please reach out for us at [email protected].

Adopt Emmett and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Emmett's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Emmett's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Emmett, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Emmett's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Emmett was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Emmett’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Emmett’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Emmett’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
