About this Dog
Frankie is approximately 5 1/2yo, weighs 45lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped. Her guardian adds: "Frankie....loves people, snuggling, all types of food, and playing with balls. I call her my velcro dog, because once she attaches to a person she'll almost never leave your side. While Frankie does have a chill/snoozing mode, she is a very high energy dog who will play fetch/tug of war as long as you're willing to. Frankie has received off-leash and behavioral training and knows: sit, down, stay, drop it, and heel." Frankie dislikes and/or fears, thunder, rain, and the vacuum cleaner. She does moderately well during car rides. Frankie's guardian explains why he has made the difficult decision to rehome her: "Pregnancy/Impending Birth of Child. While Frankie has not been specifically aggressive towards small children previously, we have determined that she could inadvertently hurt an infant in her excitement." BITE INCIDENT: In 2019 in Baltimore, Frankie bit one of her guardians; the bite broke the skin but animal control was not involved. Frankie's guardian explains: "Soon after adopting Frankie, my wife's face was in front of the dog's (who was asleep). A loud noise startled Frankie, and she nipped my wife on the nose. This was shortly after we adopted her, and nothing like this has happened since." Frankie's guardian states the following regarding children: Frankie hasn't lived with or otherwise been around children, so his guardian doesn't recommend her living with younger children, stating: "Frankie is often very excited to see children, and can be too much in her excitement and style of play. I would strongly not recommend her for a house with small children/toddlers/infants." Frankie's guardian states the following regarding dogs: Frankie has lived with dogs, so her guardian recommends her living with dogs, stating: "Frankie is very insistent on playing with other dogs, and has stayed at other houses with dogs and been in doggy day care with no incidents." Frankie's guardian states the following regarding cats: Frankie hasn't lived with cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating: "Frankie has a high prey drive, and has chased after cats on two occasions. I would strongly not recommend Frankie for a house with cats." Frankie's guardian describes her as: Very active Playful Friendly Fence Jumper Likes to be touched Affectionate Always at your side House-Trained Crate-Trained Likes men Likes women Frankie's guardian describes her ideal future home: "An IDEAL future home would be one with no cats and no small children. It would ideally include a fenced yard. Her ideal family would be anyone with a big heart for one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever met." Rehoming Fee: None Location: Baltimore, MD
