About this Dog
My name is GRUMPY and I’m a 5y M Tan Shih Tzu X. I’m 15 lbs of PURE SWEET GROUCHINESS. I was brought to a police precinct in the Bronx, NY and luckily the rescue was able to save me before I was taken to the shelter. I was affectionately named Grumpy because I was not immediately warm and fuzzy with the foster mom and growled at her a lot… but once I got to know her and she went slow with me to introduce me to her household… I trusted her and she can do anything to me now. I’m a little guarded with strangers and rightly so because I was pretty much neglected by my previous family. I’m housebroken and walk well on the leash and I can be picked up and handled as long as you slow. I’m a nice guy but nervous at first so I need someone who is going to be patient and believe in me and give me the TLC I need. I’m good with small dogs but am afraid of big dogs and will snap/snark at them. I’ve not met any cats so not sure about them and best if I don’t go with any young kids. I prefer to be the ONLY DOG so I can get all the attention that I never got in my previous home. My only other vice is that it’s not easy to groom me.. I’m nervous around objects coming to my face so I need to go to an experienced groomer but I was fine being handled by the vet. I need a QUIET ADULT ONLY home with someone or a couple that are home a lot and have had previous experience with a “grumpy” dog and are willing to give me the TLC and believe in me to make me the SWEET AND LOVING dog I know I can be!! If that’s you.. pls request an application by sending an email to: [email protected]
