About this Dog
Breed: Siberian Husky / Adoption fee is $100 / Sex: Male Spayed / DOB approx: Jan 23, 2023: / Weight: Approximately 50 lbs Gus is a fun little handsome man. He is clever, curious, yet cautious at times and he is a comical most times. This little fuzzball is waiting for his forever home. He would love a family with a doggie companion to show him the way. And an owner that is up for the challenge that his breed can bring. This Husky family was rescued from a hoarding situation in May of 2023. The puppies were under socialized when they came to us and will need a little extra work to catch up. These puppies had zero exposure outdoors from birth till 3+ months old and were only exposed to one human. So things are very new and scary for them and they will need time and patience. But since in rescue they are coming around wonderfully as they are curious and love to explore true to their breed and need to move onto foster or forever home. Gus is the last of his group to be waiting for his special someone. Gus is ready to start new adventures with your family. House Manners: Currently he is crated at night and sleeps most nights all the way through. No accidents in crate but has woke me up with vocal when he needed to potty a few times. He has restricted area to the home with a doggie gate in the kitchen area with access to a doggie door. He has not had accidents indoors and uses the doggie door. Basic Training: He has learned his basics and knows many commands. Such as Sit, Wait, Kennel, Away, Leave It, Outside, Settle, Touch and others Other Dogs: Gains his confidence around other dogs, has not experienced being an only dog since birth. Huskies are a pack orientated breed and he will thrive with another dog. Cats: There are cats in his foster home, he has had access to the cat and respects it. The cats don't run. There is one cat that will aggress the dogs and the other interacts with them and rubs on their legs etc. A running cat will trigger most dogs to chase including the puppy side of Gus. Kids: Other than being a crazy silly husky pup and destroying toys left on floor they should be fine with kids. Playful nipping should be corrected if he tries it. Fencing: Huskies require secure fencing All of our Husky/Northern breeds require fence photos if you have a yard so we give tips on containment if needed. You can quicken your adoption process by sending us some yard pics, focusing on the fence lines and gates after you send your application. This breed typically does better with a yard but we may have some Northern breeds or mixes that would be suited for apartments etc. please just ask. Please keep in mind if you want to own a husky you need to be open to the fact that containing this dog may require you to install a hot wire system (cost approx $100) this is quite often needed to preventing digging climbing or chewing through fences. A Hot wire is typically the best route to start with for a piece of mind. Installation is simple and can be done in under 2 hours on most yards. Northern breeds are beautiful dogs but are also a challenge and demanding and can be very destructive and hard to contain when their needs are not met. Please learn a little more about the breed on our home page. Also, we likely know of other Huskies or Malamutes for adoption The adoption fee is $100.This dog has had its age-appropriate Vaccinations brought up to date with Rabies shot (4 m & older), heartworm tested (4 m & older) and/or started on prevention, basic de-wormer, spayed or neutered and microchipped with free registration. Important PLEASE read if interested in adoption: We have a pretty open adoption policy, apartments, unfenced yards, and young kids are okay, but only if the pet you are interested in is a good fit for that situation!!! Some dogs may require a fence of a certain type and height, due to safety, the breed or known history. Huskies generally need secure fencing or they will roam away. We are looking for pet parents that provide vet care such as routine vaccines for their pets and heartworm prevention for dogs. Please understand we do cross check vet references and landowners/landlord policies and cannot process applications with incomplete or incorrect information. We asked that you take your newly adopted dog for a vet exam in the first 30 days to establish with your vet and obtain their heartworm prevention prescriptions and have a fecal exam administered as some pets may need additional de-womer after leaving our care. Please submit a Pre-Adoption Questionnaire by clicking the hyperlink if visible or visiting Our Home Page to the application link to show your interest in adoption. Only submit one app for any of our dogs, your app will be on file for at least 1 year. This questionnaire simply helps inform us if the dog you are interested in might match your families' dynamics based on what we have learned about that dog. All of our pets at True Friends Animal Rescue are featured on Our Home Page and can be accessed from our web listings, take a look as there may be more than one in our rescue that you like. if you don't find the information you are needing thru our websites, please submit an E-mail.

Adopt Gus and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Gus's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Gus's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Gus, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Gus's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Gus was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Gus’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Gus’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Gus’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
