About this Cat
Meet Zazu! 10-year-old Zazu was found in a back yard with a collar embedded under his armpit, and he was thin and dirty. His finder took him to San Diego Humane Society to be claimed. While there, he had surgery to repair the laceration under his armpit from the collar and was also neutered. Zazu came to us quite scared and withdrawn, most likely the result of not being treated very well by humans before arrived at FFF. Thankfully, a foster family has provided him with a safe and quiet environment, and he has been coming out of his shell! His Foster family reports: “Zazu’s dry food is in the bedroom where he spends a lot of time. He eats his wet food out in the hallway right outside of the bedroom. He seems to have some preferences now with regard to different flavors. I take this as a good sign that he is getting out of starvation mode and knows that he will have food available to him everyday. I bought Zazu some new feather toys and a snuffle mat. I can hear him upstairs racing around and his toys are moved. He really enjoys the treats that are in the snuffle mat. I would love to see how he gets them out since he really does not have many teeth. We had two cats when Zazu arrived and he did not have any problems with them. They did encounter each other from time to time. Both of our cats passed away unexpectedly within a 6 week timeframe so he is currently an only cat. I think Zazu is feeling more comfortable and safe in our home. He has gotten close enough for me to touch a couple of times when I was putting down his wet food bowl. I do not touch him but it makes me think someday maybe he will be ready for that. He talks to me from under the bed sometimes and will come to my bedroom door and meow at me from time to time. I think he is either asking me to leave so he can have the room to himself and asking for an extra meal! He loves his snuffle mat and feather toys. The toys disappear so it is a like a treasure hunt trying to find them, usually under a bed. And he has a special sense to know when the snuffle mat has been refilled. I placed a cat bed next to my son's bed and he really enjoys sleeping in it. Sometimes he does not even sense I am there as he is sleeping so deeply. I am happy for him and hopeful he is getting out of survival mode.” We are so thankful that Zazu has such a patient and understanding foster family. Stay tuned for for the next update! Adopt Zazu and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Zazu's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Zazu's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Zazu, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Zazu's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Zazu was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Zazu’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Zazu’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Zazu’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
