About this Dog
Animal Profile: Birdie is an estimated 8-year-old spayed female Shepherd Lab mix who was rescued several years ago but unfortunately needs a new home. Her previous owners loved her very much, but have a young child almost walking who Birdie is not compatible with, and have been unsuccessful in rehoming her. DGS met and evaluated Birdie, and did not feel she was a good candidate for euthanasia. Placement might take a little longer for this older girl, but she’s worth it! Adopter Profile: Secure fenced yard preferred Other balanced dog(s) OK No info on cats Large breed experience required No kids Foster Updates: Birdie lives with 2 other large breed male dogs without issues and is a mellow, sweet and affectionate dog. She does well with new people with slow introductions and is a loving companion. She doesn't need a lot -- she's very good in the crate, has basic training and is house trained. She needs a calm adult only household and slow introductions to new male visitors. Birdie has loved joining her foster family on long road trips, camping out at the cabin, and playing in the back yard with her foster brothers. Birdie has also stayed in another temporary foster home while her regular fosters were out of town, and did very well with that transition. She’s a sweet, soft girl who needs an adult-only home to live out her golden years. Adoption Info: Birdie's adoption fee is $400, which includes spay, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal History: Birdie was rescued from a DC based rescue group as a young dog, relocated to the Seattle area and lived with a young couple. She needs a new home as she has been incompatible with the new baby in the home. She needs a foster urgently.

Adopt Birdie and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Birdie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Birdie's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Birdie, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Birdie's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Birdie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Birdie’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Birdie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Birdie’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
