About this Dog
Senior hound Alexander settled into his foster home quite easily, enjoying extra meals and extra rations daily so that he is now pumped and plumped up and has managed to make his mark in the world by becoming even more laid-back and happy. Alexander is probably about 10 years old, and we think he’s had a pretty fulfilling life, although it most likely was not been an easy one. Hunting dogs enjoy their freedom, but unfortunately not all get the care that they need to live long lives without health issues. Alexander was heartworm positive as well as suffering from two tickborne diseases when he came to us; a year of “slowkill ” heartworm treatment has left him healthy and heartworm-free, and he has been given a clean bill of health. He enjoys being with a pack of other dogs, including females and males, hounds and a beagle . His foster mom says he is happy and appreciative of everything she gives him. We are looking forward to helping him continue his life journey by now helping him find a new home. PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA.
