About this Dog
Hi there! I’m Buddy, a spirited black Lab born in February 2022. Life threw me a curveball early on, and by 4 weeks old, I wasn’t walking. Luckily, my amazing foster mom stepped in when I was 5.5 months old and helped me start my journey to recovery. My back legs needed some extra care—my right leg had little muscle and wouldn't bend, so I used to swing it around. But my left leg is a true champion, with more muscle and movement! I’ve been getting physical therapy, including lots of toe wiggling and playful games (I might have given my foster mom a few face licks—she says they’re ticklish!). Experts suggest that keeping my left leg moving is crucial, and a professional therapist might be a great help too. I can walk and hop pretty well when I take it slow, but when I get excited, I sometimes scoot around like a happy wiggle worm! Since my walking challenges mean I’m not potty trained yet, my foster mom has a clever trick—my tail sticks straight out when I need to go, so she has a few seconds to help me out. Most of the time, I don’t quite realize I need to go, and I just keep moving. Slippery floors are tricky for me unless my back leg has good traction, and while I can handle stairs, I might need a hand going down (those rails can be a bit tricky!). Here’s the best part: My spirit is unstoppable! I shower everyone with love, from kids and adults to playful pups (I haven’t met any cats yet). I do bark in my kennel—whether it’s for attention, food, bathroom breaks, or just because! So, a home without shared walls would be ideal. Car rides are a breeze, as long as I’m safely tethered or crated. Plus, I come with a special "Help Em Up" harness for all our future adventures! So, are you ready to open your heart and home to a special needs pup with a heart of gold? Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00

Adopt Buddy and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Buddy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Buddy's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Buddy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Buddy's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Buddy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Buddy’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Buddy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Buddy’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
