About this Cat
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** So yep, her name really is Snot! And yep, it's an appropriate name given her well snottiness and sneezing! And yep, maybe its not flattering but it is the name that stuck when she was originally surrendered with this name when she was just a kitten. And frankly we couldn't love her more if her name was Snot or something beautiful like Princess! Bottom line this gal is precious and we know that she is a higher maintenance cat due to her sneezes but the love and entertainment she will show in return for you caring for her is immeasurable. But, there's one more thing to consider....Snot is Feline Leukemia aka FeLV positive. And before you decide one way or the other, let's discuss. FeLV is just a virus that they carry in their system. It doesn't mean anything bad except that their immune system is more delicate. But you can have that with lots of conditions in a pet. What it does mean is that an FeLV + cat would need to be an only cat (although there are excellent vaccinations available now and your veterinarian might have a good suggestion of how to handle bringing in an FeLV positive cat into a multi-cat home) OR be with other FeLV positive cats! Of course, two (or 3 or 4!) is more fun than one and Snot loves other cats! Feline Leukemia cats can live a long life or they may succumb to an illness like any other cat however, we feel that they deserve the chance to live in a home full of love and care just as much as the next cat does! Does it mean that they need a special owner with a huge heart and level head...probably! But we know there are true cat lovers out there that see the value of a home life for these kids where they are out of the shelter setting and can have a low stress environment with lots of love and care. So now that we've chatted about FeLV kitties, let's get back to Snot and her bio info. Snot has a really long story and its pretty interesting. If anyone if interested in adopting and hearing the whole thing we are happy to share. But for the purposes of keeping this post a paragraph shy of a novel we will give you the Clif notes. Snot was a sick kitten rescued by a good Samaritan that couldn't keep her due to the fact he was a traveling construction worker. After getting her to feeling better she came to us. Snot was later adopted by a lovely young lady as an emotional support cat and Snot excelled at her new job title. Fast forward about years and the young lady had a baby and their doctor said the baby was allergic to Snot. Sad sad face!!!!! Snot came back to us. Since then, she's been hanging out with her homies the other FeLV positive kitties. Unfortunately for us we have several other positives however Snot loves them all and enjoys her time with them. So, the home Snot would love would have another cat she could play with ideally but she really just loves to share her love too! She really just wants a home that really loves cats and would be ok with her being a stage 5 clinger! She is a silly, sweet girl that loves to play and cuddle. We estimate her date of birth to be August 2015. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. As always our adoption policy for cats and kittens is free will to approved applicants. If you have questions about Snot, any of our other FeLV kitties or anything at all really, feel free to reach out via email at [email protected], phone call at 712.209.1288 or shoot us a message through Facebook messenger.

Adopt Snot and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Snot's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Snot's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Snot, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Snot's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Snot was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Snot’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.

We want the Snot’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Snot’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
