About this Dog
Kirby is checking off the good dog boxes! He is still a shy boy who’s going to need time to get to know you before you get all of those sweet Kirby snuggles, but we think it’s okay for some of our dogs to be more selective about their friends. Adorable face? ✅ Party Ear? ✅ House trained? ✅ Good with some Cats?? ✅ Kirby has been in a few different foster homes with different cats, and he's gotten along with some of them--with others, he's been a bit of a brat. If you have a confident cat who will stand up to him, and are willing to do a slow, careful introduction, they might get along fine! Foster mom reports: As first time fosters, we can say that Kirby is quite easy to deal with: he needed some time to adjust and settle down, but he is now very respectful of our daily routine. He is quite independent during the day while I work from home: he is learning to go to the backyard by himself and most of the day, he plays with/chews on his toys in between naps. He enjoys quick walks and play-time during my breaks and I love when he randomly just places his chin on my leg and looks at me with his puppy eyes, asking for attention (it happens quite often and it's just so cute). He has also learnt that, when it gets dark outside and he hears steps out of the door, there is no need to bark or get alarmed, as it's my partner coming home from work and he welcomes them with the happiest dance ever. He would do great in a quiet place with one/some working-from-home humans as a solo-dog. If you are interested in adopting him, you will get a dog with his own personal brand, as we have just home-brewed a few IPAs and printed Kirby labels! As one of his former fosters wrote: “My favorite Kirby activity, second to snuggling, was watching him play catch with himself. He would bounce his favorite ball for himself, off the floor and straight into his mouth. His joy is contagious!” He also was easy going in a foster home with cats previously. Want to get in on that joy, but not totally sure about adoption? Kirby has been selected for our pilot foster-to-adopt program. You can keep Kirby out of the shelter, and see if he might be the right fit for you! A smaller guy at 32 pounds, Kirby is only about 3 years old, and he needs to be the only dog in the home. Adopt Kirby and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Kirby's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Kirby's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Kirby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Kirby's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Kirby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Kirby’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Kirby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Kirby’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
