About this Dog
Age: 5 years Sex: Spayed (BARCs will get vet confirmation) Estimated Breed: Chihuahua Mix Weight: 25 lbs Good with dogs?: Yes, but prefer to be only pet Good with cats?: Unknown Good with children?: Yes, but older preferred Special/Medical Needs: No Energy Level: Medium / Low Minimum Adoption Fee: $650 Foster Home Location: Airdrie, AB Hi! My name is Isla - I'm a sweet lady looking for my furever home. A little about me: I sleep all night in my crate with no crying, and have not had one accident in the house. I try to be such a good girl and will sit for you without even asking when it's time to put my leash and harness on and give you my paw. I walk great on a leash - no pulling at all. It takes me a little longer on my walks as I like to smell everything. I need a patient owner who will let me smell all the smells. Since I can be a little shy in new situations, I would love a home that has older humans or adults only - just so I don't get chased around. I get along with my foster fur-brother (he's ~15lbs and 3 years old) - we try to play but I'm not really sure how. These toys are pretty neat, but I don't want to share them and get grumpy if my foster brother tries to play with them while I'm playing with them. I LOVE human pets and snuggles and will give you lots of kisses. But I do get jealous and lift my lips to show my foster fur-brother that I don't want to share snuggles with my person. I would do well as the only dog in a home as I resource guard my toys and my people. I don't have any separation anxiety, but because I love snuggling so much, I would really love my person or family to be home most or all of the time. I'm low to medium energy. I had a really nice bath and did so well with some peanut butter distractions. So far, I do great in the car - I cried a tiny bit but my foster mom could barely hear me. I will happily jump out on my own when it's time to go. Mani and pedi's are no problem at the groomers. My foster mom said to tell you that I haven't been tested around cats. I'm already spayed - phewf! Overall, Isla is the easiest foster dog we've ever had. Her new family will be really lucky to have such a great pup and I expect she will come out of her shell more with time. She would be a dream dog for first time dog owners, a family with older children, a single person or couple. She does well around other well-mannered dogs - we met one very hyper big dog who was lunging at her to play and she was scared. She does seek out affection often and will cover you in kisses when she gets out of her crate in the morning.

Adopt Isla and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Isla's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Isla's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Isla, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Isla's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Isla was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Isla’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Isla’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Isla’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
