About this Cat
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** It was a cold night on December 24th 2021 when we got a call about a very sick, emaciated cat that just looked like he had lost all hope. He was sitting in the road and no one was around. The girls that saw him knew they couldn't just leave him but no one in the area was answering their call and it was late on Christmas Eve. That's when they thought to try us. One of the girls used to volunteer at the ECAS and she had a good feeling she could reach the director directly to ask what to do with this poor creature they now had wrapped up in an old sweatshirt in the car with the heat on high. It was late, it was the holiday and they were at least a couple of hours away but we got a cubbie ready with a heating pad and we said we would wait until they arrived. We knew right away that he had to have been someone's sweet boy at one point and how he ended up out in the night alone we would never know but we knew he had been on his own trying to figure life out for quite some time. He was fur over bones, had a snotty nose and runny eyes from a persistent upper respiratory infection and even though it was past the season we expect to see ringworm he was covered in it! Most likely because his immune system was just so tired from fighting. While we started taking care of what ailed him and giving him some much needed food and subQ fluids he started to show his appreciation by purring and making happy feet on the soft blanket. We knew it was going to be a long hall for this old dude but once you are through our doors you are in our hearts and we won't give up! Welcome Lazaraus! You are a sweet boy with your grumpy old man face and chronically sneezy nose but we love you anyway. Lazarus is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped. He does need meds periodically as his sniffles flare up and he sometimes looks better and sometimes worse but he is a gentle guy with an appreciative heart! As always our adoption fees for cats/kittens is free will to approved applicants.

Adopt Lazarus and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Lazarus's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Lazarus's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Lazarus, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Lazarus's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Lazarus was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Lazarus’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."
Dogecoin sets itself apart from other digital currencies with an amazing, vibrant community made up of friendly folks just like you. Dogecoin is a decentralized, peer-to-peer digital currency that enables you to easily send money online.
Learn more about it on youtube or at dogecoin.com.
We want the Lazarus’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Lazarus’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
