About this Dog
Kirby is considered a special needs dog, but that sure doesn't stop him from being a very loving dog! Kirby has a big big personality and that's one of our favorite things about him! Kirby has some vision loss, so may be best suited in a single level home (he is fine to do a few steps up and down). Kirby would love to have another dog companion in his house that is understanding of his quirks and that can help him settle into a new routine. Kirby does not mind the felines in his current foster home, as long as they keep to themselves. Kirby is not a fit for a household with young children because he likes to jump up or use his paws to say hi. He has worked really hard on his learning that he doesn't have to worry about protecting his food bowl and does well when asked to go to his kennel for meal time. He does occasionally have accidents in the house, but when kept on a schedule and let out at regular intervals during the day he does just fine. Kirby's adoption fee is $200 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations/preventatives and a free basic obedience course at Cedar Run Company in Hiawatha. Last Hope requires that all animals be altered, current on vaccinations/preventatives and kept as indoor pets only. We look for adopters to have a demonstrated history of providing comprehensive care for former/current pets and our adoption process includes a home visit, vet history check, background and reference checks. Please submit an adoption application for consideration through our website, Kirby has a discounted adoption fee of $200 because he is considered special needs.

Adopt Kirby and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Kirby's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Kirby's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Kirby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Kirby's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Kirby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Kirby’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Kirby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Kirby’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
