About this Cat
Meet Buster, affectionately known as Stringer, a striking black cat with green eyes and a distinctive white patch on his neck and belly. Born around October 1, 2017, Buster's life has been a series of ups and downs. He was adopted in 2018 after being rescued as a kitten with his feral mom and four siblings. He returned to Colony Cats in 2022 when his owner could no longer care for him. Buster is not your average lap cat. He has a tough exterior and a fierce independence, making him a challenging but rewarding companion. Though initially hissy and growly, Buster's demeanor is his way of setting boundaries. He requires a patient, understanding home where his need for space and independence is respected. Due to his dental issues—he is missing all but one tooth—Buster needs a diet of canned food. When properly fed, he becomes a big, healthy cat. He loves snack squeeze pouches and playing with string, hence the nickname Stringer. While not overly affectionate, Buster does enjoy gentle head scratches, especially with a back scratcher, once he trusts you. Buster is neutered, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative. He is a cat for someone who appreciates a feline with a strong personality and who can offer him the respect and patience he needs. If you're up for the challenge, Buster will reward you with his unique character and occasional moments of affection. Adopt Buster and embrace the adventure of earning the trust of this resilient and independent cat.
