About this Dog
*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Major, a delightful Great Pyrenees mixed with Border Collie and Anatolian Shepherd, who embodies pure joy and boundless energy. This beautiful boy sports a long, soft coat that he absolutely loves having brushed. This happy, playful, and bouncy guy has never met a stranger in his life and greets everyone with absolute love and trust. Major is housebroken and crate trained, and learning to walk on leash. He's eager to please, and has mastered basic commands including "sit," "lay down," and "come," and while he appreciates treats, he's equally motivated by a simple "Good boy, Major!" Major thrives with canine companionship and absolutely loves other dogs, though his bouncy, playful nature means he needs big dog friends who can match his energy since he's completely unaware of his size. He's wonderful with older children who can handle his exuberant personality. He needs an active home with strong leadership and people experienced in training large, intelligent breeds. Major would excel with someone who enjoys trail hiking and running, as his energy levels demand significant physical activity. He has impeccable recall and shows no interest in escaping so a 4-foot fenced yard for zoomies would be awesome! An added bonus would be to have a doggie door so he can move between indoor and outdoor spaces at his own pace. Major's favorite thing is to play, whether it's with other dogs, toys, or in the hose water! And afterwards, he loves a good cuddle session in bed! If you’re seeking a happy and joyful canine companion, look no further than Major! Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
