About this Dog
Date into Rescue: 2/21/2023 Reason for being in rescue: stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Zeppelin is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative Weight: 59 lbs Height: 24 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $599 Fence needed? Yes, Zeppelin is a big guy and needs to live in a house with a four (4) foot tall, or taller, fenced yard. What kind of home would be best for me? Zeppelin is a strong willed young man and though his life began with us after being found in a field as a stray he has not let his past dampen his spirit! He does carry some troubles with him but luckily they are manageable and easy to handle with confidence! Zeppelin is a determined gentleman, and he has a strong personality to pair with his resolve! Zeppelin likes his ladies and we suspect always has! It is possible Zeppelin was a breeder dog before he was found as a stray, it comes as no surprise he is a ladies man! Zeppelin prefers his girls so we know Zeppelin would pair better in a home with a female dog. We know Zeppelin would do wonderful as an only dog as well. Given his aversion to male dogs we would not place Zeppelin with a male dog. Zeppelin loves bigger female dogs. His current best friend is an 80lb female German Shepard, Veronica! They play and romp wonderfully together! They love to sprint around the field together, and when Veronica gets tired he will pick up a ball and bring it to you for fetch! Zeppelin will sit and wait as told until you throw the ball! He is an incredibly smart young man, and as such is an extremely fast learner! He is toy and food motivated! Zeppelin is a calm and stable dog unless another dog riles him up. For this reason, you cannot take him to dog parks. Zeppelin needs an adopter who understands this and steers him to situations that will be beneficial to Zeppelin when they go out. What is my personality like? Zeppelin enjoys being around people and he gets along well with calm female dogs. Zeppelin unbelievably smart and he knows it! He would be an amazing dog to train anything from agility to basics in service training! He learns fast and is eager to please for a reward! We have seen him walk well on a leash, but sometimes he does pull a little when excited. Zeppelin is also a lover of people, he is intensely sweet and loves to sit in front of you for pets and attention! He loves to play with his caregivers and we know he would love someone to play with! Older teen or active young adults are ideal for his level of activity! Zeppelin would absolutely love long strenuous hikes or long jogs! How do I act when I first meet new people? Zeppelin is a people lover and people pleaser. He loves people more than he does anything else. He meets people with a happy wag and if you show him a tennis ball he is all yours! Other tips and tidbits: Zeppelin was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Our vet estimates Zeppelin's birth date to be on or about 2/21/2023. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
