About this Cat
Summertime means grabbing your friends and heading to the beach, which is thankfully still open despite the safety concerns -- thanks Mayor Vaughn! 'Gansett is a Jaws-droppingly handsome and social dude who is made for the relaxing lifestyle, so bring home that main character energy now while you still can! So, is this 'Gansett destined to just be a New England tradition, or is he meant to be your new addition and addiction? 'Gansett has a unique story when it comes to how he got to PAWS. He and his bud Natty were brought to our Old City location for surrender, loose in their humans' arms. Then, doing what loose cats tend to do in the wild, they escaped and managed to find a nice and literal hole-in-the-wall a few buildings up the street from us. Natty was caught a few days later and is currently at our Grays Ferry Clinic recovering from dental surgery and doing his best to not be sick anymore (he's on his second round of could meds -- the poor boy!). And for Gansett, some things that should not have been forgotten, were lost. History became legend, legend become myth, and for two and a half weeks the Gansett passed out of all knowledge. Until, when chance came in the form of a kind stranger and his curious dog sniffing around that crevice, Gansett, our precious, was found again. He was quickly trapped, checked out by our medical team, and is awaiting his chance at a home on the inside this time (and that crack has been sealed by Elvish magic, or more likely, some form of caulk. maybe Elvish caulk). While Natty and Gansett lived together previous, and share enough similarities to very likely be brothers, they have both been social and comfortable on their own and could blend into a variety of different homes that can provide them with the attention and structure they crave (and if you have the space and time, could potentially be reunited in a new home if you're feeling adventurous). Age: ~4 years old How I came to PAWS: Abandoned Animal ID#: A180269 Meet me at: PAWS Adoption Center 100 North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19106 215-238-9901 ext.30 **Our Old City Adoption Center prioritizes appointments made by already approved applicants, but we can accommodate browsers and walk-ins if and as our capacity allows. Adopt 'Gansett and Receive 'Gansett's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, 'Gansett's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is 'Gansett's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the 'Gansett, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming 'Gansett's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and 'Gansett was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, 'Gansett’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the 'Gansett’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, 'Gansett’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
