Sweet Andre is a very tolerant boy who loves people and gets along with other cats. He doesn’t react to calm dogs nearby, and so may be fine living with a chill pup who can respect his space. He's more of a 'roommate cat' than a 'bestie' to other animals, but can generally coexist peacefully. Andre looooves to hunt for feather wand toys, scratch on an extra tall scratching post, investigate crinkle paper, chase kibble or toys that are tossed his way, and sit next to you for chin scratches. Andre may be more of a wallflower at first in new situations (he is an introvert after all), but he will bounce back with some nice human reassurance. He really seems to thrive in a calm and quiet space without a lot of foot traffic, and so would likely prefer a home without small, active children. He is also very easy to handle for grooming, nail trims, and giving meds. Andre is in remission from diabetes, which is maintained by a low-carb wet food diet! He is very food motivated and happily eats his special diet. Andre has recently been diagnosed with asthma, and currently gets pills twice a day, although he may transition to an inhaler in the future depending on how his symptoms respond to medication. Andre has also been tested negative for FIV and FeLV. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Andre was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Andre’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Andre’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Andre’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
