About this Cat
Birthday: April 5, 2023 If ever has there been a kitty as resilient as tempered steel, it would be Buttercup. This girl has faced the harshest of obstacles and always came out on top! Sure, she is shy and timid, but anyone who has learned of her story can see why. During this harsh winter, a woman noticed that there was a kitty meandering in her yard. Upon closer inspection, the little cat's foot was injured. Worried, the woman contacted rescuers to trap soon-to-be-named Buttercup and bring her to a vet for a checkup. Once the trappers were successful, they did just that. No one realized how severe the injury truly was until the vet examined Buttercup. The foot was so far gone that amputation was needed in order for the little girl to survive. The surgery was a success, but Buttercup still had to learn how to walk with only three legs. She is perfect with her litterbox figuring out how to cover with one paw. Good girl she is! She loves her canned food meals and licks her bowl clean. A Churu treat is appreciated too as a good bribe to win her over. When she first arrived at her fosters, she was terrified. She would hide from plain sight, only to come out occasionally. Eventually, she had grown to love her foster parent's belly rubs and would come out for those! Then when she met another foster kitty named Cadbury, she fell in love! She began to come out of the woodworks to visit her boyfriend. While she is still a shy girl, she's slowly growing surer of herself! We think if she had a kitty buddy at home she would progress wonderfully to the point where she's more confident in herself! Her dream home would be a quiet place to relax, with no young children, and another calm kitty to mentor her along the way. We think that she was once in a home before the foot injury, but nothing more. Knowing that, she's bound to be an excellent addition to any household! Afterall, whenever she sees her foster parent now, she's blinking her beautiful emerald eyes slowly at her and purrs lovingly when she pets her! Buttercup 's adoption donation is $115 which includes age-appropriate vaccines, dewormer, flea treatment, Felv/FIV testing, microchip, and spay. We want the Buttercup (sweet tripod)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Buttercup (sweet tripod)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
