About this Dog
Hi, my name is Ruger, and I'm about 1.5 years old and 65 pounds. I was recently adopted from a high-kill shelter in Miami, Florida and transported up to Ohio. I have unfortunately been at that shelter since I was a young puppy, and never learned proper manners inside a real home. But I have a lot of love to give, and I am very trainable – I just need a calm environment and experienced humans to help me learn to be my best, obedient companion! I walk well (loose) on a leash. I’m fully potty trained. I do very well in my crate (crate trained). I can sit and “paw”. I get along with the majority of other dogs that I have encountered (young and old), and have never started a fight with anyone else. I do not guard my belongings (food or toys) from other dogs or humans. I love to play and explore, outside and inside. I like to walk myself with the leash in my mouth. I am food and treat driven, and listen well when given patience. I play gentle with older dogs, and respect them when they tell me they don’t want to play. I enjoy and thrive in calmer environments, but get overwhelmed with too much stimulation. I do like children and love to give them kisses and affection, but I may be too overwhelming to them without proper training – especially smaller children. I am a lover and a big mush once you get to know me. I do very well on long car rides. I am neutered and up-to-date on all of my vaccines and heartworm prevention. However, I need proper training to understand what I am allowed to do and not do inside of a home. I need help with learning how to not jump up on people and use my mouth when I’m saying hi – which I’m getting so much better at. I don’t yet understand why I’m not allowed to counter-surf for cool objects that exist on top of tables and counters, so I need to continue consistent training with “down”. I do not yet understand loud noises and machinery (like vacuums & printers) and do NOT like them. I am still young and trainable, and have a lot of love, devotion, and protection to give to the right household! Do you have the time, love, and patience to give to me?

Adopt Ruger and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Ruger's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
15 DOGE is Ruger's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Ruger, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Ruger's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Ruger was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Ruger’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Ruger’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Ruger’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
