About this Cat
Ragu is a very special young male tabby with a story that speaks to his incredible resilience and gentle heart. Once injured at the hands of a human, he suffered two fractures in his lower jaw that led to a severe bone infection (osteomyelitis). Despite the pain and long recovery—including relearning how to eat solid food—Ragu never lost his sweet, trusting nature. He spent weeks healing in foster care, learning to trust people again, and he's now fully recovered and ready to find a loving home. Ragu is playful and social. He loves the company of other cats and dogs and truly needs a home with other friendly pets to play with. He’s respectful when he plays—not overly dominant—and thrives on companionship. Wand toys, lasers, and treats are some of his favorite things, and he'd much rather romp around with furry friends than nap alone. Though Ragu is not a “lap cat,” he’s very affectionate in his own way. He will seek out gentle pets, purr sweetly, and sometimes curl up next to you. Because of his past trauma, he can be nervous if approached too quickly or picked up abruptly, so he needs a patient family willing to give him the extra time and understanding he deserves. With kindness and patience, his loving personality shines through beautifully. Ragu has excellent litter box manners and has been taught to take medication in a low-stress way—though he no longer needs any meds. His long recovery has not only healed him physically but also helped him grow emotionally and mentally into a truly wonderful companion. He’s looking for a calm, stable, and loving home where he can continue to build trust, play with other friendly pets, and know he will never again experience harm at human hands. Ragu is a sweet, intelligent, and remarkably kind cat ready for the second chance he truly deserves. Ragu is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and tested negative for FIV/FeLV and heartworm. His estimated DOB is 10/18/2024. Apply to adopt: https://alley-aristo.org/adoption-application

Adopt Ragu and Receive Ragu's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Ragu's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Ragu's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Ragu, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Ragu's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Ragu was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Ragu’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Ragu’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Ragu’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
