READ INFO first! DOUBLE YELLOW HEADED AMAZON – Age 25+ years old. Sex unknown. In perfect feather condition. Amazing Amazon! Talks fluently, sings opera. Very talented bird. Was very well taken care of. Trained 100% to a water bottle. Easy to care for. Handleable on his/her own terms. No cage. Toys, seed goes with the bird. Loves cheerios and treats. Prefers seed. Loves to be talked to, a very social bird. Not an attack parrot. This is a pet for an adult, not a child. Prior parrot ownership is important, as A-Parrot Rescue gets in all older birds which may be have some quirks to deal with. A rehoming fee applies. Domestic banded. Band is to stay on bird's leg. We are looking for an adopter familiar with being safety-conscious about owning a parrot also. Clipping its wings, not taking the bird outside except in a cage, monitoring the bird if it is loose in your home, things a bird owner should already know. The application covers these issues. *This bird is available to someone who has owned a LARGE parrot previously (a bird larger than a conure.) We may ask for PROOF (a receipt, etc.) in order to be considered to adopt this bird.* This parrot is not available to a small bird owner or someone who has never owned a parrot before. We need to meet the person who will be caring for this bird. We do not adopt out birds as surprise gifts to anyone. We are searching for the perfect home for this little guy. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Birdie's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Birdie was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Birdie’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Birdie’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Birdie’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
