About this Dog
Meet Waylon This sweet 6-pound, 3-year-old Maltese is proof that resilience comes in small packages. Despite a heartbreaking start in a puppy mill, where he knew nothing but neglect, Waylon is slowly learning what love, comfort, and safety feel like in his foster home. Waylon is making incredible strides every day. Though he’s still nervous around loud noises and fearful of kennels (a reminder of his past), he’s beginning to understand that not all spaces are scary—and that toys, playtime, and affection are part of his new world. Waylon must have another dog in his future home to help guide and comfort him. He finds joy and security in the companionship of other dogs and even gets along great with cats. However, a home with no small children is best, as he’s still adjusting to new experiences and needs a calm, patient environment. He’s currently learning about toys, the doggy door, and house training. Given his background of living in unsanitary conditions, these are big milestones—and he’s making progress every day with lots of encouragement and love. Waylon isn’t just looking for a home—he’s looking for healing. He needs a family who understands where he came from and is ready to walk beside him, patiently and lovingly, into a brighter future. In return, he’ll give you a heart full of love and a spirit that’s slowly but surely learning how to shine. Available in the Northeast (NY NJ CT RI VT PA DE MD NoVA). Adopt Waylon and Receive Waylon's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Waylon's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Waylon's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Waylon, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Waylon's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Waylon was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Waylon’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Waylon’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Waylon’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
