About this Dog
Birthdate: 12/17/2023Breed: One of a kindWeight: 75 lbs Check out my video! Playdate with my friend Zoe Danish is a walking contradiction in the best possible way: a bundle of playful energy with the soul of a wise old man. He's gentle, kind, and incredibly affectionate—yet still has the joyful spark of a dog discovering how wonderful life can be.This sweet boy doesn’t love the crate, but who can blame him when there’s so much world to explore and so many people to love? Danish is eager to learn and thrives with direction. He’s a quick study who responds beautifully to gentle corrections and wants nothing more than to make his people proud. He’s not skittish in the slightest—confident, curious, and completely unbothered by things that might rattle others (including squirrels... which he happily ignores). At home, he walks like a dream on leash. But at the rescue, with pent-up energy and fewer chances to explore, he turns walks into a hilarious combo of strutting, zoomies, and tug-of-war—all at once! He loves to carry something in his mouth on walks, like a proud little parade marshal. While it’s charming, his strength and enthusiasm might be a bit much for elderly handlers or very small children.Danish is incredibly food motivated (think: very enthusiastic snacker!), so structure during treat time is key. A simple “sit” and “wait” go a long way with this smart guy. He also adores toys—especially a good game of tug—and absolutely lives for affection. He’s generous with kisses and even enjoys a relaxing bath (a rare gem indeed!).After a fulfilling day with his foster family, you’ll often find him snoozing contentedly in the car, the picture of peace. He’s fantastic with kids (especially Vanessa’s), though his heart really lights up when he's around other dogs.If you’re looking for a dog who is full of potential, bursting with heart, and grateful for every second of love and adventure, Danish is ready to be your devoted companion. Walk-ins are welcome! Stop by during our open hours to meet our available dogs!!Before you can adopt, please complete an adoption questionnaire on our website at pawscrossedny.org/dog-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at [email protected] for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold any pets. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.

100% of Danish's balance will be sent to whoever adopts Danish.
Adopt Danish and Receive Danish's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Danish's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Danish's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Danish, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Danish's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Danish was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Danish’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Danish’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Danish’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
