LUKEY and some others lost the love and safety of their homelife, when a family dispute resulted in the cats having to fend for themselves. A cat colony caretaker was kind enough to step in and care for these cats who sorely needed an advocate. Slowly, trust was rebuilt, and the cats were vetted and placed in foster homes to ready them for their forever homes. Lukey is ready! This gentle, magnificent tabby boy just needs a soft place to land and a little patience. Despite all he's endured you can feel the healing power of your touch, every time you pet him. He loves and finds comfort in the company of other cats and would be an easy addition to any cat home. From the soft sweep of his tail, to a sensitive, bewhiskered face with soulful eyes, the boy whose name means "light-giving", has so much to offer you. The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! Walk-ins are welcome! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Lukey's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Lukey was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Lukey’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Lukey’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Lukey’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
