Miss Marta was born around July 24, 2020 and weighs about 15 pounds. Marta was surrendered to a local city pound, and when we saw that face, we knew we had to help. Marta appears to have a lot of Pekinese in her, and Pekinese can be on the sassy side. We were told that Marta can be aggressive when scared and in unfamiliar situations. We have had Marta in our care for a few days, and so far she is doing wonderfully! We have not seen any aggression so far, but we are taking things slowly. Marta rode with no issues in the car on the two-hour trip to Joyful and bonded immediately with her chauffeurs and was giving kisses and tail wags. Marta walks beautifully on a leash and has been fine with other dogs. No kids in her next home. We will update you when we learn more about Marta. The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Miss Marta was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Miss Marta’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Miss Marta’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Miss Marta’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
