About this Dog
All over western NY as the pandemic came to a slow, sorrowful, end area animal shelters found themselves overflowing with dogs, dogs, and more dogs, all sorts of dogs all abandoned or they had become inconvenient now that humans were getting back to a more "normal" life. Due to the drastic over population problem in our own western NY area Joyful Rescues has focused taking local dogs in need rather than bringing dogs from the south as was once socially helpful and a kindness to humans and pets who were in over populated areas. Sadly, now we have become one of those areas. Then I received the following message from a shelter we used to work with fairly consistently and as I viewed face after face I felt the need to help them just a little so Moby and Koby came to Joyful Rescues in Cuba NY from Kentucky on an all volunteer one hour at a time transport! Thank you, volunteers!!! " Union County Animal Control has several wonderful dogs in need of rescue! We are a very small shelter with eight runs and consistently have over capacity numbers. Any help is very much appreciated. Our spring has been loaded with natural disasters. Historic flooding, historic rainfall, F3 Tornado, have all deeply affected our small farming county. The already tough economy, and these natural disasters have increased the number of animals that we have coming into the shelter. To say we are swimming would be positive, at this point, we’re barely treading water. Any help is deeply appreciated." Now about Moby: Moby was born around January 18, 2025 and might top out in the 45-50 pound range when done filling out. He has gorgeous medium-length hair with adorable red and tan ticking. Moby rides fine in a car and is wonderful with other dogs. When he saw a kitten in his foster home he was afraid to walk past - oh my, scary. He learned the dog door quickly and is doing well with house training, but with another change you will want to keep watch for a while. He does love to play and run with the others so another dog in his forever home would be wonderful. He is not a big barker which we really love. Moby is a loving, happy, handsome boy that one lucky family is going to make their own and they will love him to pieces! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH Check or Visa/Mastercard. Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.

Adopt Moby and Receive Moby's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Moby's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Moby's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Moby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Moby's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Moby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Moby’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Moby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Moby’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
