About this Cat
Figgy is a friendly, orange male tabby with a bob-tail. He was found as an abandoned kitten, in rough shape, and a kind rescuer took him in and got him medical care. Unfortunately, he lost part of his tail but that doesn't stop Figgy. You may have seen Figgy at the Rockaway Mall, but that environment was too stressful for him. He is currently being fostered and his foster family loves to watch his tail wag as he prepares to pounce on his toys. Figgy is very friendly and loving but he is still a young cat who likes to play hard and get up to some mischief. He is an energetic, adventurous explorer who loves to zoom around with his toys and climb. He loves to play with his human friends as well, but he can sometimes get overstimulated and play a little rough. He may jump on your arm and start using it as a kick toy and needs to be distracted with another toy. His foster family feels this type of play is decreasing as he is settling in to a home environment. As a result, he would not be a good candidate for a home with very young children at this time, but would have fun with sightly older children who understand cat boundaries. Figgy loves to sleep on laps or next to you with his body touching you. He really enjoys being kissed on the top of his head but he does not appreciate belly rubs. He considers that an invitation to play with your arm. Figgy is currently fostered in one room but would love to find a home where he can eventually explore the entire house and spend more time with his forever family. He has been around other cats and a dog but it is not recommended he be around other male cats, especially unneutered males. Adopt Figgy and Receive Figgy's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Figgy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Figgy's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Figgy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Figgy's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Figgy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Figgy’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Figgy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Figgy’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
