About this Dog
Cheddar came to rescue with his mom and siblings from BARC, and while his littermates have all found homes, he’s still waiting on his turn. He was adopted as a young pup but returned when his sharp puppy teeth proved too much for an adopter with very sensitive skin. Cheddar is a floppy, sweet, playful puppy who thinks everyone is his friend. He loves toys, fetch, and playtime, and he’ll happily crash next to his person once he’s worn out. He’s crate trained, rides well in the car, and is learning his manners every day. Like most puppies, he can be a little loud when he’s playing or when first crated, but he settles down quickly. What Cheddar needs most is consistency—either another dog to help show him the ropes or an adopter willing to guide him with patience. He’s not a “bad” puppy; he’s just still a puppy, full of energy and curiosity, and eager to learn. With structure and love, Cheddar will grow into a wonderful companion. Cheddar is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 09/06/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 4:30 and 8pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
