About this Dog
Luisa’s start to life was anything but easy. She and her siblings were born to an unfixed pet and dumped near a county bridge—two of her littermates didn’t survive. A kind volunteer hiked down the steep bank in rubber boots, basket in hand, to carry the surviving puppies to safety. Now safe and growing up in foster care, Luisa is blossoming into a friendly, playful pup. She has a striking coat—a mix of black and chocolate—that changes shades in different light. She’s a little unsure when meeting new people but warms up within minutes, often running over for pets and attention. Luisa is crate trained, likes toys, and enjoys splashing in water. She’s curious about the world, eager to sniff, explore, and investigate anything new. She’ll thrive with a patient adopter who can keep building her confidence, teach her manners, and give her the structure she needs to grow into her best self. Luisa is from Texas. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. We cannot guarantee the breed or size they will be full grown.* If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

Adopt Luisa and Receive Luisa's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Luisa's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Luisa's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Luisa, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Luisa's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Luisa was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Luisa’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Luisa’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Luisa’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
