About this Dog
Rachel: certified drama queen turned emotional support potato. She started her glow-up by shredding her potty pad—not out of stress, but because apparently, destruction is her love language. Tossing it in the air like confetti? A+ entertainment. And once she decided the humans might not be out to ruin her life, she let me sneak in a quick pet… as long as I didn’t make eye contact. Classic Rachel. Then came the big moment—into my lap she went, trembling like a chihuahua in a snowstorm, only to fall asleep like I was the world's most boring Netflix show. Progress! That night she shocked everyone by sleeping through without peeing, pooping, or protest. If you knew her track record, you’d be asking what alien replaced our mess-making gremlin. And then—drumroll please—she peed outside for the first time. Not exactly Olympic gold, but in Rachel Land, it’s a huge win. She now follows Tyson, resident pup, like a little shadow, copying his every move, including bathroom breaks. Honestly, she thinks he’s the cool older sibling and we’re just her weird landlords. She’s also discovered she has opinions now. Crate her? Expect sassy barks. Leave her alone in the bathroom? Prepare for protest vocals. But let her cuddle with Tyson? Pure bliss. Don’t get too confident though—she’ll bounce around like a happy maniac with the dog pack, but try approaching her solo and she remembers she’s made of anxiety and secrets. Still, she’ll sneak in for treats if she thinks you aren’t paying attention. Classic Rachel move. Rachel has a soft soul. She needs a quiet home without chaos to help her continue to build her confidence. Her ideal home would have very little time of confinement away from her humans. She is a snuggler at night with her human, once she starts to trust, and she LOVES to cuddle up with other dogs on the softest bedding she can find. She’s not quite ready for center stage, but our shy little chaos goblin is coming into her own. Slow and steady wins the race—and she’s at least facing the right direction now. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
