Meet Winona: The Spicy Soft-Eared Sass Queen Winona is that friend who wants to join the group chat but thinks everyone’s plotting against her. She watches the dogs play and her sister snuggle but the second you reach toward her—poof, she’s gone like you owe her money. She’s curious, assertive, and clearly the boss (just ask her sister Rachel, who shuts down every time Winona throws one of her dramatic barky fits). It’s a whole soap opera, and we’re just the treat dispensers. Winona’s still not sold on humans, but she’s no longer curled up in a corner—now she’s tossing toys, sniffing cats, and swooning over Bento, the dog who greets her with a face full of snot. (True love is weird.) Crates? She thinks those are bathrooms. But stick with her and she’ll hold it fine if she’s with you. She’s not kid-friendly, but she loves other dogs and does great with cats. She rides quietly in the car (crated) and is learning that barking is fun, so maybe skip the apartment. Her favorite things? Chew toys, snacks, and staying just out of human reach. She’s chaotic, charming, suspicious of your intentions—and has the softest, floppiest ears on Earth. Winona is a work in progress, but she’s totally worth it. WinonaRyder is from Texas. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and WinonaRyder was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, WinonaRyder’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the WinonaRyder’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, WinonaRyder’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
