About this Dog
Meet Bjorn — a big, blocky-headed sweetheart with an even bigger heart! Bjorn is the definition of a gentle giant. He loves resting his paw in your lap for some extra affection and doesn’t have a single sensitive spot — even a tug on the tail from a kid doesn’t faze him. He’s as easygoing as they come. Water? He doesn’t just drink it — he submerges his whole snout in the bowl like it’s a personal splash zone. It’s hilarious, but keep a towel nearby! His happy tail is equally enthusiastic, so fragile decor is best kept out of wagging range. Bjorn is very food- and treat-motivated (except for bananas — those are a hard pass). If it’s within reach, he’ll probably try to sample it, bag or not. He’ll beg a little at mealtime but will leave when asked. He’s a smart boy who knows sit, lay down, stay, shake, and crate/kennel — though sometimes he takes a second to process. He gets along wonderfully with his Aussie housemate and plays gently. Take a look at this video of him plying in the yard. He’s curious but respectful of the cats, mostly leaving them alone. Bjorn is strong on leash (he’s about 100 lbs), but manageable with firm guidance. He’s polite on walks, not overly interested in passersby, though he might bark back if he hears another dog. Thankfully, he listens well when corrected. If you work from home, Bjorn would love to curl up under your desk or nap nearby — he just wants to be close. And car rides? He’s all in, nose out the window, ears in the wind. If you’re looking for a big, lovable best friend with a heart of gold and a goofy streak, Bjorn is your guy! Bjorn is from an Owner Surrender. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.

Adopt Bjorn and Receive Bjorn's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Bjorn's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Bjorn's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Bjorn, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Bjorn's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Bjorn was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Bjorn’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Bjorn’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Bjorn’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
