Meet Kaden Grace—better known as Gracie—a sweet, silly, and endearingly quirky little Shih Tzu with a big personality wrapped up in a small, 11-pound package. Gracie is the kind of dog who’ll steal your socks (but just to carry them around and make them soggy), follow you from room to room like your loyal shadow, and make you laugh daily with her goofy habits—like stretching dramatically when you scratch her back or snorting proudly while parading her favorite squeaky toy around the house. She absolutely adores her soft toys and treats (especially treats!), and she’s been known to hoard her treasures in secret spots under beds or behind chairs. She enjoys walks but at her own slow, sniff-everything pace. She’s very curious and observant—watching the world go by is one of her favorite hobbies. Indoors, she’s calm, cuddly, and easy-going. You’ll often find her lounging on her back or hanging out in her crate with the door open—her little happy place. Gracie gets along well with other dogs and is good with kids, especially those who are gentle and considerate. She’s also apartment-friendly, quiet, and low-energy, making her a great match for a laid-back household with one woman, or a senior looking for a companion. Potty training is still in progress—she does well on a schedule and will sometimes use potty pads indoors if needed. She occasionally has accidents in her crate, so she may do best with a bit of structure and routine. Gracie can get a little anxious when separated from her person, but with consistency, she’s learning that her human always comes back. She’s incredibly loving, loyal, and funny—and she's just looking for a calm, cozy home where she can be your snuggle buddy, snack sharer, and resident sock collector. If you're looking for a sweet, low-key pup with a big heart and some hilarious habits, Gracie may just be your perfect match. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Kaden Grace was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Kaden Grace’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Kaden Grace’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Kaden Grace’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
