About this Dog
Paloma just arrived at our shelter from the city pound on Aug. 6th. She more than fulfilled her legal stray hold and no one claimed her. She appears to be a purebred Shetland Sheepdog and is 1-2 years old. She's very shy at the moment but very sweet and loving. We will need to get her vet checked and spayed soon and her fee is $150. We're still getting to know Paloma and will update her bio as we know more about her. We are hoping to find a home for her that has experience with herding breed types. They are typically very intelligent, fairly active, and like consistent routines and order. Paloma will need some basic training and consistent grooming. We do think she would do okay with other dogs but have no way of knowing about cats. She needs an adult only home or one with older kids (no infants or toddlers). NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventatives, and spayed or neutered.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Paloma (adoption pending) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Paloma (adoption pending)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Paloma (adoption pending)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Paloma (adoption pending)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
