About this Dog
Hi there! My name is Fern, and I'm a 1.5-year-old, female, 10 lb. bundle of sweetness and playful energy. I was rescued from a hoarding situation, but you'd never guess it from my loving, affectionate personality. I'm still young, so I have a few puppy-like quirks—like occasionally getting into a little mischief—but I'm very smart and eager to learn. In fact, I figured out how to use the doggy door after just two tries! I've also made great progress with house-training and rarely have any accidents. I'm not the biggest fan of being crated, but I'll tolerate it if you sweeten the deal with a peanut butter-filled Kong. I'd much rather be curled up next to my person at night. My foster family says I'm a "lovebug" and a total sweetheart. I want to be involved in whatever you're doing and enjoy following my person from room to room around the house. When I'm not snuggling, I love to play! I enjoy playing with other dogs but I'm still learning about boundaries—sometimes I get so excited I forget to give others a little space. I wouldn't mind a fur sibling, but they need to be tolerant and playful. I do not get along well with uptight, grumpy, or dominant dogs - especially those who feel strongly about their personal space. I also love car rides and going on adventures with my foster family, like camping. My foster family named me Fern because ferns symbolize new beginnings, endurance, and resilience. I've already shown how strong and adaptable I can be. Now, I'm just waiting for that special someone to give me the new beginning I deserve. Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Fern (MI)'s new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Fern (MI)'s current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Fern (MI), thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Fern (MI)'s contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Fern (MI) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Fern (MI)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Fern (MI)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Fern (MI)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
