About this Dog
Name: Maggie Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 6-12 months old (as of 8/5/25) Best Guess for Breed: Border Collie / Great Pyrenees / German shorthaired Pointer mix Weight: About 30 lbs (as of 8/5/25) Lives With: Dogs and people (including kids)! Housebroken? Yes Story: Maggie was rescued in West Virginia. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a DC-based foster home now. Maggie is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Maggie is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Maggie will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Margaret, Maggie for short, or Marge when she’s being extra bold, is a sweet, gentle, playful pup who was found roaming the streets while her foster family was camping in West Virginia. She had clearly been on her own for a little while, but since caring for her, she seems like a very happy, curious, young dog with a gorgeous white coat and a goofy, lovable personality. She’s still gaining confidence and can be cautious in new environments, but once she settles in, she loves to play, especially with her foster family’s adult pit bull. She’d probably do best in a home with another playful dog to help show her the ropes and get that puppy energy out. A yard would be great too, otherwise plenty of good long walks! Maggie is in the normal puppy- teething/mouthing stage (not aggressive, just chewy!) and loves toys, especially stuffies and bones. She’s doing great with potty training and walks nicely on leash, but like most puppies, she can get a little nervous around loud trucks. She’s had positive interactions with kids (ages 2-15) and is very dog social. The fee to adopt Maggie is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, her spay, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Adopt MAGGIE and Receive MAGGIE's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, MAGGIE's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is MAGGIE's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the MAGGIE, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming MAGGIE's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and MAGGIE was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, MAGGIE’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the MAGGIE’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, MAGGIE’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
