About this Cat
Name: Mani Sex: Male Estimated Age: About 1 years old (as of late July, 2025) Best Guess for Breed: Domestic Short Hair Mix Weight: About 11 pounds Good With: People, and other cats and kittens! Story: Mani showed up on the porch one evening, where neighborhood and feral cats often come for food in the Stronghold neighborhood in NE DC. Mani was different due to his chattiness” and allowed his current fosters to pet and handle him immediately. It is assumed he was a stray/lost cat but no luck in finding who his parents might be. He wasn’t neutered but has since been neutered and determined to be between 1 and 2 years of age by the vet (fosters are convinced he is less than 1 year of age). Mani is confident and not a cat who wants to be alone. He wants cat and human friends to play with and talk to. There isn’t a toy that he is not fond of or a scratcher he isn’t down for scratching. He has a calm demeanor when being handled and tolerates nail trimmings and belly rubs. He still needs a hiding place to retreat to why he gets comfortable in new spaces but would do best in a home with cat trees, plenty of views of the outside, and with at least one other playful, friendly feline. He has not had any known interactions with dogs. Are you ready to give Mani the love and attention he deserves? If so, email [email protected].

Adopt MANI and Receive MANI's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, MANI's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is MANI's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the MANI, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming MANI's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and MANI was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, MANI’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the MANI’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, MANI’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
