Story: Luci was rescued from a NC shelter. We are so happy to have her with us in a foster home. Luci is a happy and sweet young kitten. She spends her days playing with her foster family and littermate and chasing all the fun toys they have. The fee to adopt Luci is $200 ($325 for two kittens). This covers the cost of vaccines appropriate for her age, the collar she’s wearing, and her care in foster. Luci has been seen by a shelter vet (or other vet) and we are not aware of any health issues. Please note that all kittens under the age of four months old must be adopted to a home with an already existing young cat, or be adopted as a pair (preferably with a sibling!). For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and LUCI was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, LUCI’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the LUCI’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, LUCI’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
