About this Dog
Hi, I’m Christopher – an 8-year-old, 17-pound, chi/retriever mix with a light brown face, white legs, and a heart that’s slowly but surely learning how good the world can be.My buddy, Drax, and I were part of a big rescue — almost 80 dogs and cats saved from a hoarding situation that wasn’t safe for any of us. Drax was lucky enough to be adopted by his foster mom but I'm still available and looking to find my forever people.Truth is, I love attention once I get to know you. I am a bit nervous at first meeting but I'm almost instantly your BFF once you show me that you're a safe friend to hang out with!I get along well with other dogs and have never shown any aggression toward them. I'm certainly used to being around dogs; I was with 54 of them before my friends at AHOTO scooped me up!Now kids...they can be so loud and excitable! I get scared easily so a home with young kids probably isn't the best place for me. It's important that we all stay safe! From afar, people can be a bit scary so I bark to let you know there may be trouble coming our way. But then I meet the people and as long as they're gentle and nice, I realize they're just fine in my book! BUT because I am currently a big barker, I would do best in a single family home. Apartments are almost definitely out because a lot of people + my loud barking = neighbors being pretty up in arms. And let's be honest - no one wants that! A townhouse is hit or miss. It just depends on how thin the walls are and how tolerant your neighbors are! Of course, with lots of counter-conditioning and desensitization, I'll learn that people are ok and I don't need to alert everyone around me when I see a stranger. My people will just need to have some patience with me and put in the work it will take to make me feel nice and comfy in my new home, overall environment, and with the people I come into contact with whether in person or on the TV!Since I was in a home where all of us were being pretty neglected, my little body is kinda rough around the edges. Whomever adopts me will have to be open to providing me with some extra TLC. The nice people at AHOTO are happy to discuss any potential longerm needs I may have if adopted.I am searching for a quiet home with loving people who will be patient with me as I adjust to this new world I'm living in. I'm ready to find my forever home, will you be my person?

Adopt Christopher and Receive Christopher's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Christopher's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Christopher's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Christopher, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Christopher's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Christopher was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Christopher’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Christopher’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Christopher’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
