I was kept in a mass breeding facility, where I had puppies instead of playtime, cages instead of couches, and no one to love me just for being me. But those days are behind me now. I’m a 12-pound miniature poodle with a gentle heart and the sweetest little eyes you’ve ever seen. I’m learning that the world is full of good things: soft beds, kind hands, and tasty treats. Every day, I discover something new — like how nice it feels to be held, or how fun it is to follow my foster siblings around the house. I’m still a bit shy and will need a patient, loving adopter who can help me keep building confidence. A home with a calm dog friend would be amazing — another pup to show me the ropes and remind me I’m safe now. A fenced yard would be lovely, too, so I can explore without fear. If you have room in your heart for a little dog who’s just beginning her happily-ever-after, I’m ready to meet you. I may be small, but I promise — the love I’ll give back is bigger than you can imagine. Love, Sunny And now, a few words from my foster mom: Everything Sunny said about herself is true! She has learned so many things from her foster sisters and she continues to grow every day. Sunny seems to attach herself to one person but she has plenty of room in her heart for the rest of the family too. As she adjusts, she is still getting used to sudden movements or loud noises, so a quieter home will be best for her. Sunny hasn't barked much yet and follows her foster mom everywhere she goes. She is learning to walk on a leash and she almost has the hang of it! Every time we try, she gets a little better. Sunny has been a “work from home" dog in her foster home and takes her naps, treats and potty breaks very seriously like a true workaholic. She would do best in a home where her people are home at least part time to continue with her routine and potty training. Like most former mill dogs, Sunny needs a stable companion dog to assist with her confidence with people and to learn how to be a cherished member of the family. Sunny can jump! No need for doggy stairs for this girl. She will hop right over the arm of the couch to get up. She really likes to be near her person; sitting with you or watching you and sleeping right beside you at night. She's a sweet, sweet girl and wherever she lands, they will be so lucky to have her.
