ReadyFreddy came to us from the Huntsville shelter, where he arrived with his brother. He was the quiet one—scared, skinny, and too nervous to leave the crate. It’s hard to believe that now, because the ReadyFreddy we see today is a total lovebug. He still has his shy moments. New people and loud noises can make him hesitate. But give him a minute, and you’ll find him curled up against you, head tucked into your neck, heart wide open. ReadyFreddy is deeply affectionate and thrives on closeness. He's happiest snuggled up with you or his dog friends, soaking in the comfort. He'll do best in a home that has a confident dog buddy he can learn from. He has silly bursts of energy—those “surprise pounce” play invites are a favorite—and then he’s back to napping right next to you. He’s still working on crate training and will need someone patient who can go slow and steady with that part. He wants to learn. He just needs to feel safe doing it. ReadyFreddy would love a soft spot to land, a gentle routine, and someone who sees past the nervous start to the cuddly, goofy boy underneath. He’s ready for his person. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and ReadyFreddy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, ReadyFreddy’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the ReadyFreddy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, ReadyFreddy’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
