About this Dog
Kentucky spent nearly three months at Harris County Pets before making it out. He was just a 6-month-old pup, shy and overlooked, and dangerously close to running out of time. He made it out just in time, and now he’s learning what it means to be safe. He’s a gentle, quiet boy. Timid with new people, slow to trust—but curious. Once he’s comfortable, you’ll see his interest peek out. He watches, thinks, takes his time. He’s not the life of the party, but he wants to be included. Kentucky is crate and leash trained, rides well in the car, and has a soft spot for toys. He does best with other dogs around—he takes his cues from them and finds comfort in their company so will need a confident doggie companion in his new home. He’s still figuring people out, and he’ll need someone with patience, someone who doesn’t mind going slow and letting him come out of his shell in his own time. He’s got a little curly tail that pops up when he’s feeling good, and it’s a small sign that he’s getting there. Kentucky doesn’t need much—just time, kindness, and a calm home where he can keep learning that the world isn’t so scary. Kentucky is from Texas. Adopt Kentucky and Receive Kentucky's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Kentucky's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Kentucky's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Kentucky, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Kentucky's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Kentucky was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Kentucky’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Kentucky’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Kentucky’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
